The occasion of His Holiness The Dalai Lama's visit to Sun Valley, Idaho, September 10-15, 2005 was a special time to remember, embrace and infuse into our daily life. Enjoy this journal which documents the messages of peace and compassion from the Hemingway student community, along with messages of thanks & appreciation to you—from the inter-faith spiritual meeting participants.  It is a pleasure to pass this forward to you, from my heart to yours.  Take a moment and read the messages within.

Compassion is a sign of love, peace and to care about other people than you.  Just because people are different than that doesn’t mean you should treat them different.  If you see someone with a smile give him or her one of yours to be kind.  If you respect everyone there would be no wars if everybody was treated the way they should be EQUALLY!!

Have you ever thought of all the people in the world that are starving and don’t have homes and need help?  Have you ever thought that just by smiling [you] can change the feelings of anyone?  You can make peace by just giving someone a hug.  I have seen those people and it is very sad.  There are many people that fight in out world and that’s what leads to war.  By having a great attitude and keeping your chin up can always make a change.  And remember always smile.
